In lieu of commenting on the brand-new administration's
brand-new blog, yesterday's
federal court ruling concerning the records of the just-departed Vice President and what it says about the Presidential Records Act, or any of the other things that happened today, I'm simply going to point out that former U.S. Archivist Allen Weinstein wrote
an excellent article for USA Today detailing significant inauguration ceremonies and speeches. It quickly, vividly, and accessibly distills a lot of scholarly research and reflection, and it's a sheer pleasure to read. Enjoy!
